What are you thankful for?

I’m thankful for you!

How to use “Thankful For”

There are several situations where you can use “thankful for” in English.

  1. To talk about general thankfulness
  2. To show gratitude towards someone

On Thanksgiving in the US, we take some time to think about what we’re thankful for.

It’s important to think about our priorities and the positive things in life.

My family has a special tradition during Thanksgiving dinner.

Each person says something, usually only one thing, that they are thankful for.

The only problem is that if a husband says he is thankful for his wife, his wife has to say the same thing!

But in my opinion, this is a beautiful tradition that helps us to reflect on the past year and stay positive.

Did you notice that I used “thankful for” at the end of the sentence?

Even if the expression is at the end of the sentence, don’t forget to include “for”!

How to show gratitude to someone

When someone helps you with something, you probably want to show them that you’re thankful.

Maybe your friend gives you a ride to the airport.

Or your family member gives you a call to see if you’re feeling better.

This is a great time to use, “I’m thankful for you.”

Or, “I’m thankful for your help.”

If you say that to someone, they’re going to be glowing with happiness!

And guess what?

I’m thankful for you!
